This Saturday, NYC’s Victor Calderone returns to Toronto to headline the one and only CODA nightclub!
After a stellar boat cruise this summer, we’re expecting another sell out crowd for calderone this weekend!
Next week, French trio Apollonia launch their debut album, Tour á Tour, upon the world via digital download.
We’ve been playing the album over the past couple of weeks to get a feel for the drum patterns and vocal samples to better aid in writing this review.
One of the overwhelming themes we felt whilst listening to the album was a sense of wholeness and depth the album possesses. The LPs 12 tracks encompass the sound we’ve come to know and love from Apollonia – the classic house rhythm, the simple yet addictive samples, and the contemporary layering, melodies and instruments to fuse it all together.
It’s these simplistic intricacies that throughout the album that give it the ability to have your hips shaking from start to end. Moreover, it’s a testament to the success Dyed Soundorom, Shonky, and Dan Ghenacia have had since officially joining forces as Apollonia.
