It’s quite the anomaly really… how can an artist whose graced numerous magazine covers, received international and critical acclaim, won awards for best artist, DJ and producer, and yet, not have an artist album to her name?


Such is the case for UK producer & DJ Maya Jane Coles, however we won’t be able to say that for much longer…

The official details on Maya‘s debut album are beginning to emerge, as the first single off of Comfort, scheduled for release on July 1st, premiered yesterday on Noisey.

Everything is a dark and deep track, featuring vocals by Karen Park. Having remixed Karin’s track “A Thousand Loaded Guns” under her Nocturnal Sunshine moniker, Maya was eager to work with Karin again and created a backing track with her in mind.

Wow, we may sound like a broken record, but that was definitely a great warm-up session; Big thanks to My Dark Passenger, and our newfound Swedish friends Manic Brothers for the fantastic tunes…

Update: Damn, that was a great weekend. BIG-ups to My Dark Passenger and Manic Brothers for coming by and dropping some bomb tracks for us. If you missed it, you’re in luck!
