Unfortunately, this only applies for those of us in Canada, however getting an extra day on the weekend and a shorter work week due to a royal figurehead who no one in this country dedicates a thought to other than when planning out their Victoria Day weekend, is pretty legit.

Thankfully, if you’re in Toronto this weekend, it looks as though it’s shaping up to be an absolutely gorgeous weekend. And there are no shortages of things to do in order to make the most of it.

From Stillkids member Pasha playing tonight at Parlour lounge, to Jamie Jones at Footwork tomorrow, and finally the always popular Beach Blanket Disco returns to Cherry beach on Victoria Day Monday!

All in all, its going to be an action-packed weekend of fun in the sun, which we’re sure you’ve already begun. Don’t forget to rest-up at some point… or just power through it like a true weekend warrior.

Over the past 10 years, not only have we seen the growth and evolution of the music and entertainment industry worldwide, but have witnessed its transformation within our own city. From the days of house parties, to clubs, and now festivals, the music industry has seen widespread success, both financially and socially when it comes to hosting ones’ own festival. For years now, Toronto and its large group of artists, promoters, club owners, and supporters have attempted to unite this notion of bringing a collective Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival to our city.

Well, it seems as though Toronto has finally accepted what seemed inevitable. 2012 will see the rise of many EDM festivals in Toronto and the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). With artists ranging from Richie Hawtin, Guy Gerber, Billy Dalessandro, Sammy Dee, Dualism, to mainstream artists such as Deadmau5, Avicii, Steve Aoki, Eric Prydz, Paul Van Dyke and Nero… just to name a few.

Toronto is going to witness the growth of its entertainment industry, by placing us on an international stage as the leading Canadian city involved with EDM Culture.
